Significant changes affect the WHOIS service. In the future, the contact details of all individuals will not be publicly accessible. To contact the domain name holder, the WHOIS web-service will offer a contact form. The publicly unavailable information from the .LV Registry can be requested by the data subject himself or by the state or local government institutions according to the procedures specified in the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia. For more information on the service, please read the NIC WHOIS policy.
In addition to implementing the requirements of the Regulation, we have also made some changes to the agreement on the right to use the domain name. The changes to the Policy for acquisition of the right to use domain names under the top level domain .LV specify who, how, and when can handle the domain name throughout its life cycle, from the registration of the domain name to the termination of the agreement. The changes specifically concern the suspension of the right to use the domain name and termination of the agreement.
We have separated the Price list and payment policy of NIC.LV; this annex will be applied only to direct registrations. We invite you to read more in the Policy for acquisition of the right to use domain names under the top level domain .LV.
Amendments to the NIC Privacy Policy, WHOIS policy, and Policy for acquisition of the right to use domain names under the top level domain .LV will enter into force on May 25, 2018. Amendments in the policies do not change the period of paid up domain names.
